Well from what I can tell and from what I know of how these things work, the most common cause of failure is likely carbon build up on the contacts.
That means that opening up the switch and cleaning the board should fix them. Just have to figure out how to take them apart. That's why I want ones that are already bad. If I break the 1st broken one, no big loss. If I can learn how to take them apart without breaking them by doing that, I might be able to start fixing them.
