Does anyone have flip kit dimensions???

I just need ALL the dimensions for a flip kit (well, ATLEAST one piece!) I found some 7000lb "hangers" or something at my local Tractor Supply... I've also found a COUPLE pictures online, but not detailed enough.

I'm kind of working on a budget until I get a settlement, but the ass end of this truck MUST be dropped! I have more time than money AND I'm a part time machinist, so metal stock isn't a problem. I'd rather save my 60-70 bucks on something else, such as a new 4.10 rearend from the local Pick n Pull!

Here's the measurements I found online... Not MUCH, but atleast something!

With that shown... Here's what I grabbed from the store (for a 7k lb trailer), if the "sides" were higher, I'd be in business...

Now here's the measurements that I TOOK on these pieces....

NOW, if someone could just show me "precise" measurements, I could probably make these. I'm wondering if I can just take a couple pieces of flat and weld them up on the sides to make them go UP into where they're supposed to. Or does anyone think that would be a bad idea? ?

It would be MORE than appreciated if someone could show or type out the lengths of everything. I think the only part that's REALLY not going to work are those short sides... Anyone have any ideas? And obviously I would have to put it on the drill press to get those holes in there, so it "pulls back" away from the tranny!

Thanks y'all... I'm glad I FINALLY decided to join this site, instead of ALWAYS looking. because I'm eventually going to have a BIG build in front of me. I'm waiting on my "distributor long block" to arrive any day!

I don't have the info you're looking for, but if you are looking to save money, you could just purchase new axle perches for about $10 and weld them in place.

Are you talking about the little 3" "moon shaped" things that the axle fits into? Than u tack it to the axle itself?

If so... I'm timid to do that for 1. Because once its there, its THERE! Lol... 2. I would need some help from my boss or father (both VERY GOOD welders!) to make sure I weld them in the PRECISE spot, or I'm screwed!

They're not trying to mess with petty crap... They've got $ to be made!

That said, if I could just get the exact dimensions, it would be NO problem, because I could just make them myself! I would LOVE to know the THICKNESS of the metal as well, it looks like its about 1/4"!

PS: If you've got a link/video to a DIY or something.....showing EXACTLY how to do THAT, I would maybe go that direction!

I have that same bracket sitting right here, from DMJ. Side legs are 3 1/2" tall and 2 1/8" wide and .38" thick with the coating. That hole is .700 dia. Have a drawing of it somewhere. For those wondering what it is, it's the bracket that fits inside the existing axel perch to get the drop.

Or take that money you could spend on a flip kit and buy an explorer rear axle, already spring under, xlt's and limited's usually have a trak-lok and 4.10's. So go grab one of those from a scrap yard and some u-bolts and you're ready to have the truck on the ground. Look in the tech library, lots of info about this swap and also on perch relocation like mentioned earlier.
