This year i got motivated to fix all the leaks on my 2.9. But almost all of my fixes have since started leaking again.

New oil filter adapter o rings made it 1000 miles.

Left valve cover gasket has been replaced 2x this year and still leaks. Valve cover flanges are straight as an arrow

I think the intake gasket is the only one that i have done that has held....knock on wood.

Im about to dip my whole turck in flex seal. What the hell!

To add insult to injury, the shift forks on the m50d are apparently consumable items.

Just a rant. Thanks for listening.

Yeah was just bitching about this to somebody! It’s not a ton of fluid, I barely need to top up levels every few months but DAMN it looks messy.

Yeah same here. I don't notice much loss if any on the dipstick between oil changes, but for some reason it looks like a qt a day hits the ground.

I have fixed the low oil sensor leak on my Explorer at least twice...and that bastard just keeps coming back. Wife's 2.9 was leaking out of everywhere, I *think* I have it nailed down to just the oil filter adapter leaking now...after replacing the valve cover gaskets, intake seals, distributor O ring, water pump... nice to have a clean engine bay.

Most annoying one is the front main seal on my 2.3. I have replaced that one I think four times. It either pukes everywhere right away or is fine for a while and then a slow leak starts. I just can't get it to seal.

Had another front seal on a 4.0 that was dry as a bone - but the timing cover seal was leaking like crazy so I figured I'd do the front main while I had it apart. Guess which one leaked after that repair?????????????????????

@Zachalanche ,
Yes, not a drop anywhere. When I first acquired the truck it was leaking a little engine oil from both valve covers. I switched to the Blue silicon valve cover gaskets, started torquing the valve cover fasteners and used plumber's tape on all the new oil hose connections; hasn't leaked since.
