Hey guys im able to get a 1994 Dodge ram dana 44 for cheap from my auto teacher and i was wondering if it would work for my truck, imj pretty sure the dodge dana 44 and the ford dana 44 are different so thats why im posting this. and also was wondering if i should leave it full width or shorten it for the roads because my truck is also going to be my daily, and my plans are a mustang 5.0 so would the dana hold up to the 5.0? thanks guys

2 piece (vacuum lock?) long side axle, unit bearings, thin tubes....

Use it for MILD wheeler... the bonus is, is you leave all the mounts on it you can swap 1 ton axles later in, with just shock bracket changes.

I would hold out if you could, aftermarket parts are much more readily available for the older axles.
