Do you wait for a CEL to replace a downstream O2?

And sometimes a plan comes together. I just ordered O2 sensors from Rock Auto. Also ordered an EGR vacuum solenoid because I've been battling a problem with "low egr flow" on the F150 and that's the last piece I haven't replaced with a "new" part, Then I threw in some u-joints for the Ranger so I can carry spares when I'm out thrashing around in the woods and on rocks. Looked in my cart and everything was coming from 1 warehouse! only $7.99 shipping for all of it. The discount code got me $8.70 off.

I had looked up all the part numbers on Amazon and other places. This was the cheapest way to order these parts.

Why can't we just stick canaries in the tailpipe? It works for miners to detect oxygen?

One time use :-)

I thought that was what's in Catalytic Converters now????
And downstream O2s where actually microphones to listen if they were still alive(singing)

And thats why Animal Rights people where stealing "Cats", to set the canaries free

It's not a "bad word" it's an intestinal bacterial infection

2000 mustang with 3.8 came with four cats too. Four cats, then y to a single exhaust.
Just keep adding cats till it passes emissions I guess.

Yeah, the V8 Explorers have 4 cats and I believe 4 oxygen sensors (two pre and two post), then a giant muffler then a resonator... there's a lot of stuff under there... it's no wonder those things are near silent in stock form...

The two cats in series are likely the first one mainly for hydrocarbons and will have a mesh that is more coarse than the second one, probably around 200 squares per square inch on the first and 400 on the second...
