Do You know these seats?

If you look at the last 5 digits, it looks like they were scratched and re-stamped, so you may be on to something, again.
With the GM-ish controls and AMC seats im going to about bet a conversion van or motorhome. Older motorhomes espicially are known to be a mismatch of parts like that. Vans not so much but who knows who the conversion companys contracted with in them days. Espicially with AMC going under around the time those were pry built they probably were doing anything for a few extra bucks

They also have a "Recaro" look and feel to them
These Recaro's came from an "80's era" mustang

Conversion Vans usually have captain's chairs with armrests. The ones I have, do not have armrests or any evidence of them being removed.

Those dont look nearly as comfy as what you got lol.

Best seats i ever sat my ass in was those old vinyl covered highbacks GM used in camaros and firebirds in the 70s. Pure gold.

I'm definitely putting those seats in something. Hopefully I can get the re-upholstered for a Decent price.

They would have to be later AMC toward the end of their run. Ive never seen seats like that in anything pre 80s. Wonder if they came from like an alliance or one of the other various rebadged renaults they were peddling in the 80s? But that control switch does look GM
AMC used parts from Ford, GM and Chrysler. Even after Chrysler bought Jeep from them they continued using other manufacturer parts in Jeeps.

Drivetrain parts yes. But they made other stuff inhouse i always thought.

Ford carbs, GM/Chrysler trannys....something for everyone lol.

So, we've narrowed it down to the usual suspects. with the possibility of a Renault. :icon_confused:

Renault alliance GTA. Looks like the same headrest....possible similar bolstering...hard to tell from that angle...close?

they look like early jeep comanche or higher end Cherokee grand Cherokee.

Dang. I typed this yeaterday and when I checked this thread, it was still in the reply box unsent.

I pulled some (non power) that looked just like those from an 85-86 Cherokee to swap into my 85 comanche

Even the same color. My Comanche and the Cherokee were both maroon interiors and grey exterior

AMC- All Makes Combined. they would basically look at the big three's surplus parts and buy them cheap and put them in their cars. Would love to have an AMC Eagle though.... Junkyard Digs youtube channel shows one that he got running. they were in a lot of ways ahead of their times, basically a crossover SUV back in the mid 80s.

My wrangler was still an amc, it was an 87. Alot of Ford parts were on that Wrangler and my 302 and c6 almost dropped in like the jeep was made for them. Radiator inlet and exit lined up, the exhaust was the same size and lined up, alot of the gages plugged into the Ford sensors and worked with no mods.

I had to cut and weld in motor mount arms but after that, it was so easy to swap

I had a buddy with a late 80's Cherokee. It had alot of interior parts that looked just like ford stuff.

I had an Eagle SX4 - the little 2 door sport coupe version. 1983, bought it brand new. I really enjoyed that car. Would love to have it back. Mount it (it was unibody) on a real 4x4 chassis with an LS engine, 6l80 and transfer case. That would be a fun ride.

Yeah @rusty ol ranger, I believe that's it. Closest to it anyways. Mine don't have the lever on the side, but it's a match, as far as I'm concerned. Headrest is identical. Different years or trims, possibly
