Dude, what I know is from people that actually live there! They know the problem first hand. Radio Tech buffs, actors(one actually worked on bay watch) and tech gurus maintaining communications equipment. I must not be more specific than that.
Yes, but living in a certain place you only tend to tell the outsiders one side of it. I was born and raised in the East San Francisco bay area. A lot of California up until you are past Santa Rosa has a large Hispanic population. Having lived there, there were times when I would make gross generalizations about people that lived in certain areas. But generalizations are never completely correct. I had many complaints about the area and state as a whole but never mentioned the positives. California does have some nice parks, some truly great scenery and a large mix of things you couldn't see anywhere else.
For contrast, I live in North Dakota now and whenever anybody asks me about it my comments are usually that its very cold, mosquito infested in the summer, and there is a small population. I tend to leave out that the state has a strong economy, the price of living is very fair, and there aren't really any places with high crime rates.
Good and bad things could be said about every state. My family is still in California, that's why I continue to visit. The reason I will not move back is because of the outrageous cost of living, and the nearly unconstitutional gun-control laws. AKMs are very illegal in California, there are still a lot of gangsters who find ways to get them. I don't see how the citizens of California feels safer knowing that the bad guys have the guns and they don't. The idea of needing to surrender your rifles at the border makes it sound like you are leaving the country.
That's all for my rant.
