Canada, and some of the northern states require DRL's. (Daytime Running Lights)
Many other states require you to have your Headlights on when you vehicle is on a highway or a interstate.
Not all rangers came with DRL's and many owners are having problems with the Module that operates the DRL after many years of service.
The following post is a quick, cheap, and almost painless correction/mod to put DRL's or Auto headlamps in your truck or to replace the faulty OEM DRL Module.
For those that are running HID's, this is also a correction so you can still run the HID setup and still have DRL's.
** Disclamer **
**I am assuming you have some sort of technical or electrical knowledge.
** I nor TRS hold no responsibility if you break, mangle, destroy, blow up, wreck, crash or burn your vehicle while performing the install or operation with this mod/correction.
** Perform this mod/correction at your own doing/risk.
Parts needed:
*two 30A 5 pin relays
*two 15A fuses
*female spade and butt connectors
*wire to connect things Unless you have the relay pigtails with wires.
*Soldering is optional but recommended over the use of butt connections.
Here is the wiring diagram to make it all work.
This is a single setup of just DRL or Auto Headlights, if you need both, then you need to do this twice.

Here is how this mod works..
When your ignition and headlight switch are off, you have no lights, like normal.
When you turn your ignition on, it activated relay 1 ( Normally open ) sending 12V to relay 2 ( normally closed ) turning on your lights.
When you turn on your headlights you activate relay 2 breaking the circuit, how ever you lights will still be on due to the headlight switch being active.
total cost of this mod is around 15 bux with all parts.
Enjoy.
