Distributor/CMP Sensor Replacement Question

So I have a new Cam Position Sensor, or Pick-up Coil, or Distributor Stator, or Hall Effect, or whatever it is for my 1993 3.0 Ranger with distributor.

Im finding out that these are not the most common setups and there is not a lot of info on them.

I thought that replacing the sensor would be just a matter of removing the cap and rotor, then removing the two bolts that hold the Rotary Vane in place to get to the sensor but thats not working.

Do I need to remove the distributor to replace this sensor, or is there a setscrew or something I am missing?

Thanks-

You need to remove the distributor, knock the roll pin out of the drive gear, knock the shaft out of the gear, and then you can replace the pickup.

Thanks.
I was hoping you weren't going to say that...:bawling:

Fixed

It was the distributor and the pick-up.
And it was much easier than I had anticipated.
The old rotary vane had some scrape marks on the inside of it. It also had some shaving build-up in the area where the vane rides through, and when I stuck a pocket screwdriver in, the metal piece in the pick-up damn near fell out.
It also had some play in the bushings.
It's all good now, with many new parts. A fresh tune-up.
