I used to order a lot from RA for various cars of mine, but anymore they have become a pain in the rear.
I wanted to do a tuneup on my other ride, a 2005 Chevy Malibu.
They like to play a game, where parts seem cheap, until you add about 15 or so to your shopping cart.
AFAIK, Rockauto doesn't own any thing, but rather drop ships for various warehouses.
In the past, I've have had 7 different shipping locations, totaling over $70 in shipping costs.
If I wanted to make things ship from as few locations as possible, I would have to spend more on the parts, which then became a moot point.
So in my quest as a cheepskate, I stumbled another website with cheap parts. Not always as cheap as RA, but they ship from one location.
Another annoyance is a lot of the parts I got from RA looked like they had been sitting in a warehouse for years, as if they got swept up in the floor sweepings, sometimes there would even be rust on some parts.
I was a little hesitant, as this site is not well known, but the parts I got were all in great condition.
Here is a copy of my invoice.
Yes...$1.74 for an oil filter, $2.16 for a fuel filter, and $1.79 for NGK platinum spark plugs.
They aren't always as cheap as RA, but I don't have to screw with multiple shipping locations anymore.
