disciplerocks's Ford Focus "build" thread

Oh god.. Good stuff or bad stuff??

Oh god.. Good stuff or bad stuff??

it has a 5.0, any and all stuff is good.

Unless he puts the 4cyl back in it, that would be bad.

Dustin has put a lot of work into it. I don't think a single one of us hasn't had the "how in the hell did I forget to do that" moments. Project complete, it's going to be a pretty bad arse one of a kind car. It's not every day you see COP on a SBF, let alone in a Focus.

Yeah, I was really confused when I saw the COP until I scrolled down and saw the diagram.

Because race car

While I'm working on the motor, I am going to be installing a temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, wiring in the crank sensor to the Focus ECU in hopes that it will make the tach work, wiring in the VSS, reinstalling my wideband, and I am swapping to stainless hardware.

I also welded shut the coolant lines I was not using, which was the one that blew off.

Found out the Focus crank sensor is a 36-1 tooth just like the Explorer so I'm good there.

But I need some input on the VSS. The Ex ecu uses a 2 wire sensor like most RWD Fords. One is ground, the other is signal.

The Focus uses a 3 wire sensor. One is ground, one is switched power, and one is signal.

Got it running again.

Then tore it back apart to work on oil leak around lower intake.

He's getting closer to having it "done"

I thought that you were going to be supercharging it though.

It'll never be "done". He's probably waiting for me to build the adapter for him, since I'm currently fabbing one for the supercharged 5.0 jeep I'm building...

SVT

Are you fabbing another one? What about the old one?

Yep, took the first one, modified it to make the new one. I do have an M90 plate cut out of 1/2" aluminum though, so I've got the start of one...

Mine is going to have to be a remote mount. I don't have the clearance in the back.

Youll be surprised what majic I can do. You of all people should know that :icon_thumby:

Can you pull a small block out of your ass?

That would be a cool magic trick.

If I pull on a stick...lol
