Actually, he has obd1 ecu, so using the 1.7's would be easy. You might have a problem fitting the roller rockers under the stock valve covers, so plan ahead for that. What ecu do you have, AP-??

1.6 is what was recomended to me for my cam on a mostly stock motor.

Ill have to check on the ecu

And hacked up the subframe so I could bolt it on and get wheels back on her.

You can just take out the oil baffle in the stock valve covers. Then just grind down where the screws hold the baffle in place. Been there, done that on the Stang.

I don't know why there's even baffles on the EFI valve covers.

Are you worried that hacking the sub-frame up is going to weaken the mounting points for the lower arm. Just like you have to get the stronger rear arms to mount the rear sway or it will snap in half.

I will be bracing it. Its just temporary while I get everything else in line.

Fitted the stock Zetec ac compressor without disconnecting the lines. Won't have to have it filled. Mounted where the smog pump would normally be.

Got my rear rotors in today, but they don't quite fit the calipers I picked up. May be able to grind them down a hair, or I may have to find some different ones.

And got it to fire with some starter fluid. For some reason my fuel pump isn't kicking on.

Are you using the mustang ecu or the zetec? Either way you may need to have the pats system reflashed to reconize the engine/ecu. That's probably why the fuel pump isn't kicking on. I have to do the same on my focus, once done with the swap.
