Disc Brakes

Does anyone out there make a rear disc brake kit for an 86 xlt. Or is there a different year I can get the parts from that will interchange? Thanks

But why not just swap over to a '95 or later explorer 8.8 rear end? Its a pretty stout axle, has 31splines, ususally has limited slip, and of course nice factory disks. It also can be had for fairly cheap; my axle was only $150 complete

Are the Mustang rotors 4 or 5 lug?

95+ is 5 lug just like the ranger. Its all bolt on stuff.

or cut the brackets of the stang rear and weld spring perches on.

94 was the first year for 5 lug wheels and the new bodystyle.

I am gong to buy new stuff for the swap. I dont want to take a chance with the bone yard parts when it comes to brakes.The new stuff I need is only about $200 vs 150 at the yard. I had rather spend the difference and have new.
