I'm going to be installing a new 8.8 axle in the bronco and it will have disc brakes. Since I've got some ideas floating around and I need some axle tube realestate behind the axle. With the caliper being there that poses a problem.

So I was thinking of swapping the caliper brackets left to right, moving the caliper to the front side of the rear axle. Anyone done this? I don't see brake performance being an issue. Just wondering so I don't overlook anything.

good luck bleeding upside down calipers

other than that it might work okay

Super duty's used to use a set up with one caliper in front of the rear axle and one behind on the other side, so I don't see a problem braking wise. Dodge caravans have the calipers mounted directly ontop of the axle.

The only thing I see being an issue is if someone wants to use the factory park brake/e-brake setup. I've got a line lock that I use for that, so I don't care about the Park brake.
