Hey guys. just a quick question. the headlight on the drivers side of my 1990 bii is really dim. Also the parking lamp and signal light are really dim. The light on the passenger side are fine, just the ones on the drivers side. I have replaced all the bulbs and it didn't make a difference. Anyone have any suggestions i could try? thank in advance for any help.

Check the grounds for that side of the headlight system. Each of those lights are on separate circuits and the only common is the ground. If the ground is good, pull each of the fuses and observe if the remaining lights get brighter. If so, check for broken wire / short on the circuit you removed the fuse from.

Most likely a ground. Obviously you have some ground or the lights wouldn't work at all. But by have a compromised round the resistance at that point is stopping a lot of the electricity from flowing, thus a weak light.

ok i'll check the grounds on my truck later today. worse comes to worse would it be ok to just cut the ground wires and ground them to my rad support somewhere? or do they have to be in a circuit with the rest of the grounds in the wiring harness?

My 91 Explorer was grounded to either the radiator support, or the side of the fender (can't remember which). I've seen them where you can just remove them and clean the connection with a Scotch Brite pad, and your golden.

I don't think the location of the ground will matter, just as long as it gets a ground. I'd try to get a new ground near the old one if possible. If not, then you can find a spot that is easily accessible.

Ground is ground. As long as it's good it doesn't matter where it is.

If you really want good ground wire it right to the battery negative.
