Hi,
Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed a clunking from under the truck usually when I hit the brakes. After sitting for several hours it seems like something is holding the truck back. I took the drums off the back and checked them. Everything seemed good and in place. Everything was working nicely after that, for a couple of days. So this weekend I took the brakes apart and rebuilt them with a new brake kit (springs, etc). But the results are still the same.
I'm wondering if the differential is needing service, would the symptoms be what I'm experiencing? Could the clunks and hold back have to do with the differential being forced? There is no play in the drive-shaft other than what little movement there is is from the differential. Same with the rear wheel spindles, at most there is about 1/16th inch lateral movement.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Brian
