Difference L and SL limited slip axles

I have a 7.5 3SL73 and 8.8 3L73 axles. Based on other posts, I thought the S and SL diffs were a different type limited slip but the carriers look the same to me (see pic). Is there a difference between them? I'm using the 7.5 due to very limited space under my project car so I'm just curious about the difference. The 8.8 from a 91 Ranger is listed in the sale ads if anybody needs a narrower axle for an early Ranger.

Is the s actually a 5?

The tag is stamped 3SL73 and the door code is F6

Sorry, I had a brain fart. I've never seen or heard of an 's' being in the code. But I'm not a guru either. Can you get and post a pic?
