Difference In Tail Lights

I just had my 1990 Ranger painted and wanted to replace the original tail lights with new ones to improve the looks. When looking for replacements I find 83-90 for a decent price, but 91-92 are twice as much, from the pictures I can not tell the difference. What is the difference in the 91-92 tail lights, do they look better?

The bulb sockets are different for the reverse lights. The years you're seeing on wrong though. Its 83-88, and 89-92. They can be modified to work rather easily with a file or a dremel however.
