Difference between 1998 and 2008 grill

Probably a stupid question but I can't really tell any difference. I'm sure there are different mounting points but I thought a newer grill would look cool on my '98. Does anybody know all the differences?

I think the grilles are the same from 98+, same mounting points and what not. the headlights would require a different header panel. But other then that you can swap fenders, hoods, grilles, and bumpers with any of the trucks from 98+ I believe. Could be wrong though.

The blinkers on the 08 are on the outside of the headlights instead of below so you'll need a new header panel as mentioned and possibly new lights too.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this done on here though.

also a new hood. since the grille is like 1 inch or more taller since 04
actually u could make a 04+ grille fit using the existing lights as long u have the 04+ hood.
the 01-03 was the only one that had the part that covers under the headlights in the same grille shell.
the 04+ has it in the panel that goes behind the grille. so if u keep your lights, theres no need for a new panel.

That's nice to know. I knew all the bumpers swapped out but not everything else. Thanks for the help.

Ya I see it. Instead of the light on the bottom its just plastic.

Yes.
if u want a 04+ grille yes.
like Dave is showing, the 01-03 has a plastic "wing" under the headlights.
that would require to get the 01+ heads or do a custom cut on the grille.

As u can see the 04+ grille comes separate, as the 98-00 does.

the plastic part under the lights comes on the plastic panel that goes behind the grille, so u can keep your 98-00 lights and turns
