differance between a 28 and 35?

all im interested in is the i beam cause i bent my driverside one is there any differances in those between a dana 28 and a dana 35?

They are completely different. A Dana 35 beam will not work on a Dana 28 and vise versa.

You can however, swap out an entire Dana 35 in the place of a Dana 28, and it is essentially a 'bolt-in'. (You may need to shorten your front driveshaft)

looking at your profile, if you are talking about your '96 mazda with a 4.0, you have a D35

yea i know but its bent now and i have to change it out i was just wantin to see if they were interchangable while im huntin junk yards

ah, gotcha

if you just need the beams, any '90-'97 ranger or '91-'94 explorer 4 wheel drive will have the front axle you want, that is unless you have front ABS, then you are more limited, unless you swap your knuckles onto the new beams. a note though, the '93-'97 2.3 and 3.0L powered rangers have a possibility of having the hybrid axle which will have some parts that will be unusable to you... like the inner axle shafts and the pumpkin, the rest will be fine.
