im going to be extending breather lines on my 98 ranger, how long is the line on the front diff? some people say its short, and ive heard it runs into the air intake box..
also how about the tranny and transfercase? where are they located and how long should I make them?

I don't remember the size 3/16 maybe? If its anything like the vent on aa ttb truck the front one is only maybe 3" and is hook shaped. The back goes upto the frame. . I made mine go up to the bottom of the hood, and the rear one go up the inside of the bed.

Yea not sure on sizes but rip it off when you run into the store, buy a length and run it up where it won't get water if you sink the diff. you can even get a sweet breather filter for it! Haha. Mine are hooked like that too, I haven't touched em yet even with the 8" Boing Boing I did to it. Before I wheel I will bring em up though. Just use your best judgement and don't let them get tight anywhere, if the suspension droops.

I did a setup on a toyota 4 runner a few years back. When I extended the breather lines for the diffs, I added an el cheapo clear plastic fuel filter to the end of each to prevent any water from getting back down the line if anything ever happened.

Ive seen some people use those air lines that are coiled up so they dont have to worry about them if the suspension drops or anything.
