Diesel Swap?

Hey what do you guys know about Diesels in Rangers? I ask because there are some videos of Cummins Diesels in Rangers that my dad said look stock... I don't remember seeing any stock diesels in Rangers for years though...

So what's up with what I'm seeing, were there any stock diesels in the last say, decade or so?

No... You'll be hard pressed to find a diesel to fit a RBV too, especially without importing one... Surprisingly the GM 6.2/6.5 is probably your best bet... All the small diesel available around here though are usually too heavy/tall for a RBV (4BT)...

You might try this - I just found it looking for info for a Co-worker that wants to diesel his '94 Ranger.

The 4BT was specifically what I was talking about... The 4BT, IMO, is too big for a Ranger... Almost 2x the weight of a 4.0L...

the 4bt is great for a 4x4. not too heavy.


but in a low and light efficiency based rig its not a good choice.

I currently building a ranger with a cummins 6BT. Its going to be a full drag race truck, but it has a 6BT under the hood.
