Is this worth looking into? How hard are parts to come by for these? What kind of mileage should a truck like this get? Maybe a fun winter project?

its worth having just for the coolness factor. parts are not easy to come by if you don't know where to look. About the only engine parts that are available domestically are waterpumps and t-stats. I think even the PCVs have to get shipped from europe. Not sure how had it would be to get that pump, its probably expensive more than it is unavailable. I'd go to a cummins place and as for the injector or HP pump from a d-series. I think thats what those old ranger/temp diesels were.

The only pump I found with a quick on line search was in Australia for $800 so I think I'll not bother calling on this one.

If you want the truck buy it. Then send the pump out to be rebuilt locally.
