They were demonstrating this dye that can show cracks in a cylinder head on the show, and they used a v6 head to show how it works. It was cracked between the valves. Sure looked like a 2.9 head to me! :icon_rofl:
 
seen that show yesterday i think and thought the same thing
 
If it LOOKs like a 2.9 head and was cracked between the valves it was
probably an early TM90 4.0 head.

I saw it too, but I honestly didn't think much of it other than it being from a V6.

Looks like an interesting product though! I'm sure it makes the whole process much faster, and more thorough.
 
A 2.9 head with a crack? Don't be silly.
 
the head they used appeared to be alum. I didn't think the 2.9 was alum.
 
Aluminum head? Mistaken for a 2.9 head?

Most likely a GM3800-3 head

and Jim, in the chamber isn't where 2.9 heads normally crack.
