About 6 months ago i purchased a FLowmaster 40 series delta flow muffler, i had it installed at a shop. They put it on in place of the existing muffler, so it went out of the existing tail pipe. When i started it up i wasnt very satisfied, it sounded alittle bit louder and deeper but not what i was looking for.

Today i cut off the tailpipe after the muffler and i loved the sound, although i know i cant leave it under the cab so i am going to run it out before the rear wheel.
Here is my question will i notice a difference between using the existing tail pipe ( 2 inches ) to run it out from the muffler or should get 2.5 inch pipe so it does not get constricted?

here is a diagram for refrance

Running the pipe out in front of the tire wont sound as loud and rumble nearly as much as no pipe after the muffler but it is a good bit better than a full tailpipe. You won't restrict flow with 2" pipe since the muffler is only 2" anyways. 2 1/2" would sound a little deeper, that combined with a 2 1/2" muffler would sound best. Me and my friend are both running the same set up on out B2s (out in front of the tire, between the frame and body), his is stock cats with a 2" 40 series and 2" pipe, mine is 2 1/2" from the y-pipe back with a single 2 1/2" aftermarket cat and a 2 1/2" 40 series with 2 1/2" exit pipe and a 1' long 3" tip and it sounds much better than his. Performance wise there is no noticeable difference to be had with most exhaust setups, I built mine to sounds nice.

the muffler i got is 2.5" but it has adapter piping on it, so i can either have the 2" on now or cut the adapter off and use the full 2.5" exit on the muffler, ive seen your youtube video's yours sounds pretty good, are you using the 2" pipe that gos to the muffler

i was looking at yours and am going to do it that way, although im going under the spring not over, im sure the body lift helped clear that out

My whole system is 2 1/2" except for the last 12" which is 3". I'd definitely ditch the adapter and go 2 1/2" out of the muffler. All my videos on youtube are without a cat, so it sounds a lot deeper than with a cat, my latest video is with a cat but my radio was turned up so it's a bit harder to hear.

Alright cool, ill have to find some tubing today,
and when are your going to release the ranger in ror ?
