deleting hood supports

So what happens if u leave truck outside in the rain? Would engine get wet because of the louvers?just curious? They do look good

Thanks guys, will update as the hood gets finished, long way to go yet. I am happy with how they look :)

I would imagine there would be a bit of water that will fall into the engine bay, shouldn't really make any hardship i will guess. This truck isn't to be driven in rain storms, unless the weather turns during a day out. I would be more worried about rain under the tonneau cover and destroying the electronics under there.

cheers

I have a semi functional hood scoop in the center of my hood, with some 1.5 holes underneath it. Two scoops directly over the CAI on the passenger side, and two Mustang hood vents. All functional. I drive it in the rain all the time, with no ill affects at all. If it's raining cats and dogs, I have a piece of foam I put in the center scoop. Other than that, I just drive it. The center scoop, the five holes in the front are directly over the polished steel 3 inch intake tube. The rest are just blowing cold air on the intake manifold. Mine is metal, it used to het hot. Not anymore. When it's raining, it runs so smooth and sweet. Guess it's that water injection effect.

I would drive through a tornado frog blizzard with no hood.....

Or fenders.

And leave it outside .. no worries about louvers.... Unless it's all show chrome....which will be avoiding rain on road and kept indoors.

For heat rejection..

No fender wells goes a long way.

ok.... Finally can say this hood project is near complete now. Hood pins are on and set (just have one small project to finish) and that is the 4 bolts need to be inserted to tighten down the aluminum circle protector for the pin latch.

the hood is lined up, and I decided to get creative under the hood with some airbrush work...

ya I know they are stencils, but hey, you have to start some where :)

cheers
