Slip joint may need grease.

I haven't looked at a carrier bearing for a lot of years and never really knew what I was doing. I would guess that is too much movement and would replace it myself, greasing the slip joint at the same time. Hopefully someone with more knowledge pipes up.
 
There should be some play in the rubber. Not a huge amount, but some. Your bearing looks pretty crusty but maybe it's still good.

Also the bearing is pressed onto the driveshaft, so it would have to be either pressed off or cut off, and a new one pressed on.
