I called the local ford dealer looking for the shifter bushing for an M5OD... All I wanted to do is fix the slop in my shifter, but they want $110+ for the bushing... Does this sound right to anyone?

I rebuilt my whole transmission for $170. Sadly enough, that it a price I would expect for that bushing from a dealer. I paid $17 for 2 C clips and $20 for the rubber bushing that goes on the 1354 shifter lever...

Give these guys a call and ask about the bushings. This is the kit I ordered and I had to call and get two extra synchros. They sold them to me no problem.

Unless the dealer is the last option, I try to find it somewhere else. Dealer wanted $15 for the EGR plug adapter in a clyinder head, got five from Fastenal for same price.

I would take your old bushing to a local supply store and compare. Surely you can find one for a couple bucks. I doubt they sell them at AutoZone or NAPA or whatever.

That's actually what I ended up ordering! It'll be here Tuesday. New T-Case: check, Shift repair kit: check, on the road to spending to much money: check... :D

Awesome, let us know how it works out, I need kit for my tranny I am using for my 302 swap

$110 sounds very wrong to me. I bought a new set for about $25 a few years ago.

I did look up the oil trough yesterday and it lists for $1400. I am informed that it is because they don't make them anymore but don't want to tell people that, so they just jack the price up to something so ridiculous that nobody will pay it.

$110 is about right for the two bushings, the two wave washers, the two flat washers with the tangs on them, and the top plate/seal. I did mine last year.

1 each BOOT 6L5Z*7A107*AA (replaces the original 1L2Z-7277-AA boot) $51.58 list (7/2011 prices)

2 each SPACER E8TZ*7E018*A $3.17 each (7/2011 prices)

2 each WASHER 1L2Z*7Z120*AA $11.84 each (7/2011 prices)

2 each SEAT 1L2Z*7228*AA $10.70 each (7/2011 prices)

If you are on Garage Journal (hope the administrators don't mind my posting this link, if you do, just let me know, I'll edit it out) I did a thread on replacing the the bushings and other parts. Similar to the thread here........

The Ranger Station Technical Library Thread on Replacing Mazda Shifter Bushings

But with more (and I think better) pics and more current prices on the parts.

That's what the dealer said. The parts recently jumped in price...
