deal or no deal

my boss recently picked up a 302 out of a fox body mustang, it is completely disassembled but has most of the parts except the cam, he sent the crank and block to the machine shop to find that it would cost $500 to have the block redone properly. bore it .030 over, new freeze plugs, new cam bearings, the works, or he could ridge ream and hone it. he decided it would not be worth it and plans to sell it for $100 would this be a good deal. not sure what 302 are going for. all i would do is hone it and re ring it put a mild cam it. can u use a mustang 302 for a swap, what else would i need to wire up the fuel injection.

$100 for the whole enchilada is a deal to me. Stay away from that machineshop for work done though. $500 for what you descibed is highway robbery.

good deal

I got a 5.0 engine out of a police crown vic that had been disassembled, pretty much every thing was there BUT it was a little difficult to figure out how to route wires, and where some things like brackets for fuel lines etc went..with that thought I think it is a good deal, getting the Engine done has been the least of my problems. Wiring is still my biggest head ache, trying to figure out how to route wires and put stuff (sensors and relays) has been a pain. I hope to make some major progress this weekend.
