Hello everyone tonight my 88 ranger just died. Started to cranking it over and everything died no power anywhere. Tried to jump the starter solenoid nothing, no headlights , dome lights everything dead. Is there a main fusible link somewhere? Had to leave it at work going to try to start in tomorrow. any ideas on where to start would be greatly welcomed

You mean the battery is dead? It might be weak it won't do anything. Charge it up and see if that helps. Could be something wrong with the alternator.

+1 check voltage on your battery, sounds like a bad connection with one of your battery terminals.

There is no main fuseable link - there are several that run in the harness. A good place to start might be on the BATT post of the starter solenoid, that is where the power for the cab comes from. And also main power to the starter.

Thanks for the responses guys. The whole truck went dead. nothing worked with a charged battery. Turns out it was a bad ground.

Check for voltage drop on the ground side.

Hook the positive side of your meter to the engine block and the negative side to the battery neg terminal. You might have a bad ground.
