my little white 86 is becoming a pretty good little daily driver, but, its a 4x4, real handy in winter, and a 2.3. engine runs great but it needs lower gears to be happy. id like to put in a set of 4.10's. i found them for the rear but does anybody know where i can get the d28 4.10s and if need be the carrier. no real point in upgrading as tire size might reach 235x75r15.

Check the classifieds and post an ad as well.

good luck, it took me forever to find matching 4.10s for my d28.

i checked the classifides. nothing. option 2, can i swap the entire front end out of a d35 truck. sometimes i get lucky and find one junked out and really cheap. will radius arms and all slide in place of my d28?

The D35 is a direct bolt-in swap other than it's longer pinion, for which you'll need to shorten the front driveshaft about 1 inch.

From what I've seen, 4.10 D28s seem to be a little more common than 4.10 D35s in junkyards, though neither are particularly abundant. With an absolute max tire of 235/75R15 I think a D28 would still serve well just for winter driving conditions.

I found some on craigslist...but there in Fl
