Ive got a 1999 ford ranger that i want to make a decent prerunner out of. The truck is mainly a DD but i will hit the dirt 1 or 2 weekends in the month.

I don't really care about how high its lifted just so it doesn't largely affect the DD aspects of the car. Im looking at the camburg 5.5 kit but also the LT kit looks really nice but i don't know what the LT will make driving on road like

i added up the total costs and im going eith the camburg 5.5 definately. For rear i plan to grab some deaver f31 springs and new shocks.

Heres the only questions i have. What size shocks should i pickup for rear and should i use the stock hanger/shackles for the rear or what new ones should i pick up. Im pretty set on fox shocks and i hear blistens that come with the 5.5 are just ok so should i replace them with fox shock too? if soo what size for the front?

thanks in advance

A 14" shock should work fine on the back of the truck with Deaver F31's. I am not a huge fan of the 5100 shocks and would prefer to run a race shock, but I would suggest that you run the shocks that come with the kit and see how you like it first. No need to spend extra money up front, shocks can always be upgraded. It seems like a lot of people flip their hangers and use the stock shackles to improve the performance of the Deaver spring over packs. I am not sure how that would look with the Camburg 5.5 kit since the kit adds almost 6" of lift to the front of the truck.

the only reason i want to put in some fox shocks is because ive had bad experience with bilstein shocks but ill see.

waht about the bed cage? im not really sure if i need one or what the concept of it is other than be a roll cage. I know rear shocks mount to it but beyond that im clueless.
