Ya I couldn't believe it! Once it caught fire, it was a perfect opportunity to do my homework I wish they had a better view on the crash though. There's probably what, 200 cameras there? And the best shot was from across the track. Feel bad for the guy driving the truck, I bet he sh!t himself haha.

His car broke, thats how. They were thinking his transmission locked up which caused him to go out of control.

I'm not a fan of nascar, but my dad was watching it and I walked out at just the right time to see that. Something tells me this race was just cursed from the beginning.

Now I'm no mechanic, but wouldn't pressing the clutch in solve the problem of his tranny making him go out of control? (Serious question)

Nope. The clutch dis-engages the engine from the tranny. If the tranny locked up, there would be nothing to do about it. He had been complaining about a vibration through all 4 gears throughout the race, so last I knew, they were thinking rear diff.

I was wondering if the track was going to be ruined after that fire. Funny that they cleaned it with laundry soap, and the patch material.

Glad 3 out of the 4 Roush cars made the top ten. Looks like a great start for the year.

I think it was blessed. Viewership up 22% from last year. It was pretty exciting. I fell asleep after the fire and the Tide. Had to get up and look at the news to see who won. I love watching Daytona, the road courses, Darlington, Martinsville, Indy and the chase. My wife is dying to go to one of the races at TX Motor Speedway. I guess I'm a NASCAR fan.
