The KC Hilites Daylighter 130 watt lamps or the 150 watt ones? I know the 150 are brighter. How long does that sealed bulb last though? do they last about as long as the 130 watt lamps? also how hard/expensive is it to replace the sealed lamp versus just the bulb in the 130 watt lamps?

Changing the sealed-beam bulb is easy, its finding where to buy a new one to change it with that could prove tougher.

I would get the 130s.
130W H3 bulbs are much easier to find. The halogen bulb will produce a whiter light, although if the reflector is of good quality, they should be just as bright, too.

+1 on the replaceable bulbs. You can find H3 bulbs just about anywhere in a variety of wattages.

yeah but i think the wiring harness and fuse on the kit that comes with them are made to run the 130 watt bulbs. i may be wrong. but if im right then id have to replace the wiring and the fuse for a brighter bulb. not to mention the difference in candlepower rating between the 130 watt and the 150

Yeah, it depends on how close they cut it with the wiring and fuse. A 150 watt bulb is gonna be around 2 more amps than the 130 watt. And if you're always going to have that replacement source available, then it really doesn't matter which one you go with. Either way, you'll be fine.

yeah i figured. i like the 130's because of the readily available bulb replacement but i can deal with having to order those replacement sealed bulbs offline. not to mention i like having the extra 100000 candle power. haha. i tested out a set of the 100 watt ones which are 200000 candle power and they lit up the yards all the way down my street for about a halfmile. and thats all the further it went because of a corn field down at the other end. i cant even begine to imagine how bright 385000 candlepower lights will be
