Ive read that the 2nd gen will swap into the 1st gen. ok
But now the first one or two years of the 3rd gen has the same dash as the 2nd gen (93, 94?).

Now Im wondering that since the 3rd gen has a second gen dash in it, would taking a dash from a later model 3rd gen and trying to put it in a 1st or 2nd gen work?

It's not as much the bolt-up, or physical fit, of the newer style dash, but rather the differences in the electrical and HVAC systems between the 1989-1994 dash versus the 1995-up dash. Not impossible, I guess, but not easy, either.

Heater box is completely different, firewall, mounting points, HVAC system (cable to electronic), speedometer (cable to electronic), steering column, door panels, wiring harness . . . I was tempted, but decided not to.
