Broken dash piece on my most recent project truck purchase.

Is this needed for my truck?

IMG.4637.jpeg is a good condition dash

IMG.4638.jpeg is my new dash.

Do I need it?

What does that mount?

Picture is too close to give any context of what we’re looking at. I can see what’s broken and missing. But what goes there? There might be a decent way to support and anchor that object and use the broken dash.

Going by memory, that screw is the one that is hidden behind the instrument cluster. It goes up above the steering column and attaches the dash to the column mounting bracket. I don’t think that broken piece really matters too much, but without looking at everything I can’t be sure.

Looks like it goes around the steering column. Not entirely sure what it mounts and/or holds.
