Dash Light ?

Hello folks;Long time reader 1st time poster,2000 ranger,3.0 ext.cab56 k,Never a min trouble till now,While driving at night dash light just suddenly started to shut off,all others in and outside still work fine,Dash light come on and of intermittenly while driving.Any ideas what to look for?Thanks in advance

dimmer switch. I vote bad dimmer switch. Roll that knob down(make the lights dimmer) and see if it still does it. Sounds exactly what mine did....when knob all the way up(dash light brightest), the entire dash would flicker on and off with bumps in the road. Rolled it down, cured it. Replaced dimmer with a junkayrd unit since ford wants $75 for it. lol.

second that thought on the dimmer switch, may also one to try NAPA or AutoZone

$75 for such a simple gizmo is rape... but RockAuto is even WORSE @ $87.79!!!
