Dan's 5.Ohhhh Build thread

For those curious, a few new updates:

ANCHOR MOTOR MOUNTS DO NOT WORK FOR THIS PROJECT, I REPEAT, THEY DO NOT WORK. You HAVE to order the FORD OEM mounts for the 4.0 OHC 2002+ Ranger 2wd to use brians brackets.

I also ditched my explorer 3.73 rear end in favor of a 4.10 out of a ranger FX4 so I could enjoy a bolt-in swap and a bit more tear-ass from a dig.

Engine is offically BOLTED into the truck:

Stock trans brace mounts right up to the tranny, 4.0 ohc FORD engine Mounts with Brians custom brackets,

Still need to swap out my slipyolk, the stock driveshaft looks to fit perfect, but has a keyway that the 4R70W does not have.

Dan,
I know you must feel good finding the right mounts now. Got it all plunked down and mounted. Wiring next? When you going to have it running?
Need on of these on that intake.

If you're gonna keep it looking stock like it does now, its gonna make a pretty neat sleeper =D

Sound kinda like my dads 99' shadow ace through that camera, I bet with some flowmaster 40's(or whatever) it would sound pretty good. Good job:icon_cheers:

So, did you use the 4WD 4R70W, or did you find another trans??

MIRACULOUS found a 2WD Explorer 4R70W here in the midwest at a local pick and pull in great shape on the cheap prior to dropping the engine in.
