dangerranger1983 build

Thankfully I had this week off work. I'm not happy it suddenly decided to quit on me but what did I expect from a Chevy with one of the worst automatic transmissions. Sucks it went out at only 137k.

Well at least you got it sold quick!

Sold it for $300, bought it for $250 (after selling my tbird for $500 abd buying the truck for $750) so made $50 off it. Glad I didn't put new tires on it this week like I was going to.

Say hello to the newest member. 94 2.3 5 speed with 319k on the clock. Has a block heater so Thai might be nice this winter.

If I you all don't already know, I'm trying to trade this truck for a sports car, 89-93 mustang foxbody hatchback with a 5.0 abd manual trans.

I just don't have time to use her for what I built her for nor can my lower back handle offroading.

83 or 94?

Hoping 94 but suspecting 83...

83.

I have an offer for an 86 vette but after thinking about it this week, I'm keeping the ranger. I've put to much time into the ranger to give it up. Also the wife keeps saying she can't believe that I'm getting rid of it.

A bigger guy with a back problem may not like folding himself up in a 'Vette either...

I would love to get a Mustang, (if I was to get a Fox it would be '84-86 though) but I know it would directly compete with my Ranger which is a project strapped for time and funding enough as it is.

I used to have a turbo Eclipse as a dd, loved the car and it only needed cv joints and some minor things when I sold it. No rust, sometimes I do wonder if I made the right call building the Ranger and selling it.

The vette would have fit me perfectly. I'll invest into some nice seats for the ranger, carpet in inside, etc....

Now that cooler weather is coming (finally) I can get to work on the 83.

What's up danger. How you been?
Doing good. Almost did something stupid ( the last few posts on that). Other then that, truck runs great with the bolt on efi setup (see the last few pages on that).

How have you been?

Yeah. Don't sell your truck. I regret doing that now for years. So I started a new build thread. I'm going to make a clone of "blackwidow".

Other than that doing good bud.

Update on this truck, my 94 and my new to me 92 extended cab.

The efi is learning more everyday, finally got an air cleaner on it. However I can't say mileage is any better but drive ablility is.

My white 94 I sold for $300 to my younger brother who wants a truck for winter but also so he didn't put as many miles on his sports car either, plus to learn to drive a manual.

I just bought this 92 2wd extended cab 3.0 5speed ranger for $450. The original owner only parked it because he got a new vehicle but couldn't find where the slow coolant leak was. Also doesn't have rear working tail lights only when the headlights are on but the turn signal and brake ones do so that a simple fix. The coolant loss was from the water pump weep hole, easy fix and found it when I got home afted getting it. Also going to need an exhaust and cab corners plus the blend door is having an issue so no heat in the cab atm. I will get the a/c working.

I hated to do it but I had to sell my Torque monster headers to recoup money. But with how little work that has been done to my engine, they wouldn't have benefited me anyways.

The 92 runs and drives great. Tomorrow, weather permitting, change plugs and wires.

Still have the truck, sits most of the time. Photos don't show up anymore because of photobucket so I'll have to find a different photo hosting.
