Makes sense. I'm running a E303 cam so a mild one also

I looked it up for haha and they say I'm running lean but my AF is 13.6% so I know it's not that.

Huh that's odd. Gotta be timing then. With efi don't you have to run the vacuum advance timing light?

With this efi setup I have it doesn't control timing, it fires the injectors from a signal from the tach/negative side of the coil. The timing is what the manufacturer of your engine is set to. Factory is 10 degrees but I may go 12 so that I get a more complete burn.

Didnt help that I had it sitting at an idle for awhile, 750rpm, then step on it to go to 3kish without still street testing it so that it can further learn my truck and my driving. Now its down to the fine details.

Oh I gotchya. Well drive that sexy beast!

Now you need to finish the exhaust

That's next on the list. I forgotten what it was like to drive this truck. But my brakes are a bit spongy since I last drove it Abe replaced the brakes and rotors. I'll have to bleed them some time.

I think you were going better then 20 there buddy lol. Sounds good to me lol. Hows the throttle response? Does she back down ok after you let off of it? I like it.

Sent home from work because of a break down so put a splash of gas in her and test drove some more. Shes getting better street manners for sure. The system raises the rpms by 50 to compensate for the extra drag on the alternator for the efan. I have it set 195 on and 190 off. Going down the road at 35mph it stays at 192 like it should. When putting gas in it at a gas station I have to go painfully slow because of my fuel neck splice for my return line. None the less very happy with this efi setup.

Update.

For those that didn't know, last weekend a block away from my house I lost all ignition, no crank signal to the efi unit when turning over that I was getting all the other times so I suspect, with others confirming, I fried another ignition module. Anyways new one arrived and hopefully this will fix it to where I can put it in the garage and remote mount it to a cooler location.

It was the module that went out. 5 minutes under the hood to replace and she fired right up and is in the garage.

Should have went EFI to begin with. True story.

Did you ever get those headers put on that you sent me a pic of?

Haven't had time to put the TM on.

In the beginning I didn't have the money to do a bolt on efi and any efi setup had to be HO, hard to find a factory version, or if it was bolt on, costed almost 2k.

That's a bummer! It's just over heating huh? I had issues with one on the old 2.9 but I would have thought they're more reliable than that...
What about pulling the plastic fender wells off for air flow?
