dangerranger1983 build

I'm not havin any issues with mine. I'm likin the heck out of it.

I want to stay 4 barrel though and I dont know of any Ford factory 4 barrrel TBI setups. I just need a better carb, mine isnt right by any means and I dont want to dump money into it. If I do go 2 barrel I want it to be able to feed this engine and not starve it and still be able to accelerate into traffic and do highways speeds.

Trying to find a used edelbrock 4 barrel and rebuild it myself. Much simpler design and much easier to tune. Hell even an old sqaure bored Ford 4 barrel will do the trick.

I dont have a driveway to work on anymore and want another carb that can be bolted on whether it was rebuilt or new so if it doesnt work I can bolt the current POS back on and be back where I was.

Got the miss fixed. The plug wire popped off plug number one. Yet another easy fix.

:icon_rofl: must be what's wrong with mine....just did plugs n wires about a week ago....now it's bucking :bawling:

Mine lacked get up and go plus had the miss fire "shake" going on.

I know my plugs are going to say I'm burning rich. I'm just running champion copper plus IIRC for now and some cheap 8mm wires for now.

Thought the miss was gone but not. Plug may be fouled out from when it the wire came off of it and the short drive. So i will replace that plug when the weather clears up.

Got under the hood again and saw that i had blown a vacuum cap off the vacuum tree. Before i had the "miss" the truck ran fine until i went to restart the truck after an appointment for the baby and at that point it back fired a couple of times out the carb and from there on it had the "miss" feel and had a air leak of some kind sound. Truck still got to speed the same but had some hesitation when taking off. Took it for a quick spin after plugging it and seems to be fixed.

Nice hope that's all it was! You gonna install a tree that has the number of ports you're using?

Thoiugh that it was fixed but not. Sounds like an exhuast air leak but has a miss feel to it. So I guess the next best thing to do will be change out all of the spark plugs. Stilll has all the as it and go to it but just has a slight hesitation when taking off or taking a turn in gear, I have to give it more to keep or get going. Fuel mileage hasnt change much at all.

Sounds like your carb to me, might be your floats sticking if it's trying to flood in a turn.

Not wanting to flood turning but the RPMs increase when i turn, that is taking a slow turn with my clutch pushed in and foot of the gas pedal.

I need to find a Jeep pitman arm and cut the end off so that I can I can weld it to my trackbar mount so that my TRE of my trackbar doesnt move. Had to shim (washer) the TRE of it since that last month it has got a bit of slop in the steering. Yes I have a Jeep trackbar mount but cutting out the tapered part seems a bit tricky though and also cant bolt it up to the frame since it doesnt hang low enough for where the linkage is parallel to eachother.

On my way home the wipers were making weird sounds, clunking more like it when they were moving. Well ended up going to the store for a few things, took a left hand turn out of my apartment complex and heard another clunk. I turned on the wipers and only the passenger side was working. So after getting back home and with the help of the finances brother who happen to get home early from work, got the bar, which those that have a gen 1 ranger know how big that access hole is under the hood to it all, back on the wiper. Went on a bit too easy but at least it's working now and it was nice outside tonight.

And for those that don't know what that tight space looks like and how much of a pain it is to get your hand in there, my phone took the pleasure of giving you the visual.

Sure is. That's looking to the driverside. I'm happy with the little rust i see in there too.

Had to take my air cleaner off to get my hand in there better. Got about two thirds of the way up to my elbow before i could get on there anymore. The skin on my wrist took the damage.
