dangerranger1983 build

It stars on the first spin 90% of the time but it those ones that don't that's annoying. I just won't choke it as much now i guess thoughlike i said i didn't make any real adjustments to the carb to make it want to flood the engine on start up.

Are you still gettin 8-9 mpg?
I finally got a speedometer in mine so I could check and I'm gettin 11-13 depending on how I drive.

In town it's still 8-9 mpg but highway it's 13-14mpg.

Dang that's pretty good! I'm not sure what I get on the freeway. I have a hydrogen booster that I built and put on my dodge that I'm gonna put on my ranger. I got about 1 3/4 miles per gallon better in my dodge with it. I have to figure out a better cap for it though. It gets kinda warm and the black PVC starts to melt lol. I know people swear they're a joke but it worked for me so I'm a believer.

They go against the laws of physics and energy. There's a sticky in the alternative fuels section that explains it all.

Lol all I know is it boosted my mpg's in my dodge.

You put pictures of it in your build thread. I thought about making one for shits and giggles.

Put some carb cleaner into the tank and filled her up so hopefully it just needs that to be ran through the carb to help out. The mileage and rich fuel smell stared suddenly a few weeks ago and i think the weather is to blame also. I need to find time to look up how to change the jets, I'm told it's real easy in a holley, and get a couple sizes smaller.

That would suck but it'll give you better mileage, fix your flooding and best of all save you $!
I checked my mileage yesterday and I got a hair over 14mpg. I turned the idle down a lil then tightened the air mixture screws in 1/16 of a turn each. I need to get my O2 sensor put on to get a good reading.

I would like it if mine would idle when i want it to. Sometimes it will and sometimes i have to keep my foot on the pedal. I do agree, an O2 sensor setup would help me fine tune the truck alot better. I'll report back tonight it the cleaner helped or not.

if you had the money, you could look in to one of the "Fast" fuel injection systems, I have seen on the "PowerBlock" that they love them.

The easiest fi system to go with would be go to TBI that is a two barrel and get and adaptor to put it on my intake off a 5.0 but not sure how bad my engine would choke on it being a 200hp engine now and the factory TBI setups were for restricted 150hp 5.0s. I would also have to get a TFI dizzy out of a mustang too since they have the steel gears on them.

All in all i just need the money to rebuild this carb and the time to do it too. Took her for a little drive earlier to get the cleaner into the carb to start working.

Usually cold weather makes things go lean, it is denser and contains more oxygen for a given volume than warmer air.

Different locales in the northern part of the states do have different blends of fuel and usually the winter blend is less effecient than summer blend, not uncommon at all for milage to go down during the winter months no matter what system you have cramming fuel into your engine.

If I was go to TBI it would be with a GM setup.

I think there is something screwed up in your carb and I doubt your magic in a can will fix it.

the "Fast" Fuel injection system that the "PowerBlock" used made over 400hp on the engine that they was working on, from what I seen, it's all plug and play, just install it and let it idle for a while to learn the engine it's on.

That is what I would go for before I jury rig something, but that's just me.

Hope you get it running right.

Here is the Fast website http://www.fuelairspark.com/
