If you are that worried about it, use TRE's. I used heims because, well, I wanted to. Not because it was the best option, more because it was affordable. And I like the fact it has a high misalignment, with the amount of flex I have I need it.

Not sure i'm reading this right

once the rod end is all bolted in, the bolt wont (shouldnt) be spinning in the hole? the ball and socket do all the pivoting

That is true but if you run heims, the bolt will move and rub the knuckles causing the wallowing out but if the bolt was greaseable, the wear could go down quite a bit. Might just run heims and see about my grease fitting idea.

The bolt that goes through the knuckles when you run heims. A standard bolt that is put in when you drill the knuckle out. That why they talk about over time, the knuckle wallows out. I may just end up running a crossover setup with heims due to this truck will be my play toy one day anyways.

Going way back to the tire deal I said, coworker is wanting $300 for black steel rims and four new 32 inch bfgoodrich mt tires (they have the tjre info. sticker still on them), don't know if the tires are mounted to the rims but that's no biggy. Told him to get me some good pics of them and I will finalize the deal.

I'm currently running 3.73 gears, think I'll be fine or would going to 4.10s be better? If 4.10s, then I can try to find an 8.8 with them and all ill need to do is regear my front.

I can't say enough on how smooth it drives since the SAS, jeep coils are staying under for good, just need to get the overloads off the rear.

is 32's all the bigger you are ever gonna go?

If I had it to do over, I would have gone 5.13's, but I am using mine off road mostly. I have 4.88's now, ran them with 33's and loved them. I would go at least 4.56's, don't fear the gear!!

The 410 way would be the cheaper way to go for awhile and if it needed 456, then Im not out anything, just try it in 2wd with 410s and see how she acts when I do get it, and if I can find one with 410s. Dont know of any 8.8s around me with disk brakes but drums will be just fine.

Just saw you posted Kyle, Im running a D30 and Im told 456s are to lowest gears I can go. The 32s are at a great price I cant pass up. This truck will be a DD but see some offroading but nothing extreme. Was going for 33s but 32s are close enough.

I am sure they make 5.13 for the d30, although I wouldn't suggest it

Go with 4.56 for sure. That is what I went with because I wanted 33's. But, the 30's I had on there for a while with the 4.56 ran great. I could take off in 2nd if I wanted to, not great for highway use though.

so I pulled my truck in for a once over and realized that she need's alot of work,
Both wheelbearings are shot as well as the driver side upper and lower ball joint's which isnt a big deal cuz i am gonna swap the axle the winter however the most disturbing thing i found is the my rod end's between the pitman and passanger knuckle are SHOT!!!
there isnt a ton of play but enough to start to be concerned about. I am halfway blaming the mud but i wash the truck just bout everyweekend so i dont know. i think my next setup will be regular TRE's for longevity !!!FRICK!!!

I used rod ends for my swaybar endlinks and they are worn out. Tons of play, makes alot of annoying clanging when driving also. I need to replace them with bigger/better ends and not go with the cheapest.

Just having a loss trackbar mount gave me the death wobble. Ya my custom linkage is still up in the air for as what I'm going to do.

Alright made a deal tonight with guy through a co-worker for some BF Goodrich MT 32 inch tires that will fit 15 inch rims, less then 800 miles on them and are currently on toyota rims. He first wanted 600 with the rims but after some talking, got him to go to 500 without the rims, but I pay to have them dismounted. Got pics of all for just so that I would see if non had the one wheel peel and whatnot. Heres some pics of them....

Going to get them in a couple of weeks when I get paid and still have money in the bank for Christmas and other things that may pop up.

Nice tires. I would have got em with the rims, then sold them.
