Dang coyotes getting into everything.

Kick that whining ass coyote to a camaro for that truck.....

And..... Godzilla is homeless....because of the meant to be fairies.....

But... A 460 was an available option in a ‘78 f150 with a pathetic 220hp.
But a pretty healthy for the time 365ftlbs at a nice snorty 2000rpm.

I think every engine should be outlawed except then Ford 300. No reason for anything more or less. The rest is all up to gear ratios.

Denied...
I have a special knack for blowing them up... I managed to take out 2 in 1 year and a 3rd the following year.

I didnt think you could blow a 300 outside of losing oil pressure or trying to hit 8,000 rpms. Now ive heard the 400 (same bore/stroke-just a V8) doesnt do well with high rpms.

That sounds like a challenge... someone find me a 300 to abuse!!

How?

Contrary to what modern engine builders think the 400 (and 300) came from a time when shit didnt have to be spun to a sustained 4500rpm to make power.

Um...
With variable valve timing and lift, many of these modern engines make more torque across the board. You're fixated on the idea that they make peak power up high, but that doesn't tell the real story.

They can be better than they have any right to be but are not necessarily the same or better.

In a fullsize truck I was very disappointed with how the vaunted coyote ran. To the point I am almost surprised it has lasted this long.

Many do in fact have to be wound like a car engine to make anything happen, because most are pulled out of car platforms and poked in trucks, not designed with truck use in mind.

I know I mention this quite a bit, But I’ve been real impressed by the 3.0 duratech in our 2011 escape, this pulled my tractor home over 50 miles on a flatbed with no problem, even though technically it was a bit above the maximum towing capacity. Not towing it gets low 20’s fuel economy and is the most fun thing to drive since my ‘72 cutlass. Im not sure if theres a rwd usage for that engine but Id love to put one in a ranger chassis.
