Looking for a Dana 44 3rd member with 4.10 gears close to or driving distance to north central Ohio. Thanks.

The 250 one won’t work

dana 50 vs 44. the shafts are different on the 50....u joints.

there is one in cleveland too... they are pricey at shelf yards....usually 500 bux or so.

to be clear the shafts are 1350 joints so they wont fit your knuckle holes....the piglet will bolt on...but the shafts ....not so much

well done page b.o.t.

There is a conversion called a “Jana” 44, 50, 60, 70, etc where you put Dana 50 gears into a D44 axle… or 70 gears into a 60… not sure how popular it is these days and it requires a fair bit of machine work.

Not that you would want to do that, but it’s been done.

I didn't think he was looking for the complete axle, just the 4.10 gears in the center. None of the rest of the axle is the same true. And I thought the f150 4.10 gears were pretty rare. Turns out they are out there, but the f250 is much more common in the 4.10 flavor. The center section should swap in to a f150 axle correct? Not talking about u-joints and axles, the f150 stuff can be used. But I thought the center gear section was the same on the dana ttb hd from a f250. Just bolt it in and go in a f150 axle assembly. No one has refuted that yet I don't think.

we have used the 50 center in the 44....but there were other mods to get seals and a bearing to work....

it allowed us to use a marc williams yoke for long travel suspension....

way cheaper to just buy gears.

The dana 50 ttb is different. The dana 44ttb and the dana 44 ttb hd should be the same? The dana 44 ttb was in the f150 axles, the dana 44 ttb hd was in the f250 axles.

yes....it is different. the d44 hd centersection use different shafts, some have an odd joint as well..not all...there is a variance. the 44 hd center section should be same as 150 as i understand it. just has the different size shaft spacing.
