dana 44 into a 83 ranger

i have a 97 bronco frame with the dana 44 in the front can that be put into my 83 ranger without major modding or is it even possible?

Search for a D44 TTB swap on here. It can be done, but you'll need to modify the beams or the one of the mounts. You really don't gain much besides the the hubs and brakes, but you can get that with a D44 knuckle swap.

Might want to check the year on that Bronco... '96 was the last year offered.

Assuming it's a later model one though, like Sunk said, there have been some past discussions (some recent) on swapping those axles into Rangers. Going to a full-width axle is the primary benefit of the swap, not so much strength (compared to a D35 that bolts in anyway).
