hey guys, looking for some advice from some people who have narrowed dana 44's before. From what I read on the internet, the early bronco has a wms of around 60 inches and the wagoner has a wms of around 59.5 wms. I've got a hp 44 housing and am gonna cut it to fit the axle shaft width. I want to use factory length shafts so if I break something it's not a big deal to get a special one made up.
can anyone confirm the width's and which one I should use?
I want to match the rear which is a exploder 8.8

If you're going with and explorer 8.8 rear and want to stay with the same bolt pattern on the rims you will have to allow for 1 inch spacers on the 8.8. I don't remember off hand what that measurement is but that's easy to figure out. So WMS to WMS on the 8.8 explorer rear +2 inches.
But on the other hand you have to narrow of the rear 6 inches to use stock early bronco shafts so what will happen your rear tires with the spacers included will be a inch farther out on each side of the truck.
