Hey i got a quick question for all you guys. Im new to the ranger scene and just picked up a 99 ranger xlt 4x4 with a 4.0 in it. I found out i have a dana 35(from the tag on it with the p/n 610556), now my question is when i put it 4 wheel does it lock both axles together and keep them locked no matter what? So i wont do the one wheel peel in the front if i were to go off roading? I know my rear differential is an "open" from my axle code in my door jamb, im just unsure if the front is the same as the back. Also..what does the "non-disconnect" mean in610556 FORD 35 FRONT 1998 EXPLORER - NON DISCONNECT (SLA IFS)?

It'd also be an open differential.

well i called up ford today because i had nothing better to do and they said i do in fact have a limited slip in the front diff. So now im confused haha

I bet Ford was lying to you...

When you put it in 4 wheel with open diffs, you are really in 2 wheel peel mode, rather than one wheel peel.

i wouldnt doubt them lying to me haha. well hopefully ill save a few bucks up for some lockers front and rear=). Or atleast a limited slip unit. Any suggestions? I was thinking on going with an auburn unit in the rear and maybe a powetrax unit in the front, but im not to sure.
