Hello,

I recently needed to change my wheel bearings and seals on my 1997 Dana 35 TTB.

In the Tech section I couldn't find info on the exact sizes of the o-rings needed for the Wheel to Rotor area or the o-ring in the Warn manual locking hub. I found the sizes in the forum section.

Is there a place in the Tech section you could put these measurements and pictures for others to find?

Wheel to Rotor O-ring = 3-1/2 Inside Diameter X 3-11/16 Outside Diameter
Warn manual locking hub O-ring = 5/8 Inside Diameter X 7/8 Outside Diameter

Bought from a hydraulics repair shop:
80 cents CDN each for Wheel to Rotor O-ring
15 cents CDN each for Warn manual locking hub O-ring

These O-rings are rated for 250 C / 482 F and they're working great for me. Just replace if you see deterioration.

Thank you very much for this great forum and awesome tech section!!

Thanks for the size information, I was thinking about this the other day. I just went looking for O-rings and found that I could get the hub to rotor one in either a standard round, a square, or an X shape. To me a square or X shape seems like it might make a little better seal than a round one, especially for off-road use... anyone else care to share some thoughts?

The only possible problem I see with the square one is it is only available in Buna-N which is oil resistant but only good for temps up to 212 F. Not sure exactly how hot that gets there. The X shape is available in Buna-N or Viton which is good to 400 F but costs around $2 per ring.

Your Welcome!
I don't know how hot the inside of the rotor gets. From what I've read online the outer part of the rotor can get above 500 F when braking. So I just bought o-rings that had the highest rating for a good price.

I've always used RTV cause I didn't know where to find o-rings that size. Thanks for the info.

I ordered mine from http://www.mcmastercarr.com Of course, you have to buy like a 5-pack or 10-pack or something like that. But with all the trucks I have around here, I wasn't worried about that.
