My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
Gotta swap the ball joints on my '93 D35 TTB.

Went on Rock Auto and there's like 37 different options, and some of the "economy" choices seem better than the "daily driver" choices

is AC Delco good? I heard Moog has gone downhill, and read some bad reviews. Is Mevotech any good?

They offer Motorcraft, but way more expensive and not even greasable.

Which ball joints should I get?

Also, I dont think I've ever done a D35 before, do I need to pull the the c clips and fully remove the axles?

Thanks and cheers

Motorcraft are probably the best... although they are ungodly expensive. I have also had good luck with Duralast ball joints from AutoZone although I am sure they are available under another brand name for a lot less than AZ sells them for.

I'm really not super pleased with the state of ball joint availability for D35s. I discovered recently that those "Ultra-power" ones that cost $3 are the EXACT SAME as the Carquest/Advance Auto house brand... I ordered a set of them for trail spares from RockAuto and they even came in Carquest boxes  I feel like everybody sells those same $3 ball joints but with their own box and 10000% markup.

Post is slightly old, but I'll chime in anyway...

Agreed, the current availability of quality ball joints for pretty much all Dana axles went to crap some years ago when Raybestos (their chassis division) was snapped up and apparently disposed of by Federal Mogul (maker of Moog).
My best advice at the moment is to look for ball joints that have BOTH a blue urethane grease boot, AND a gold-anodized body (i recall the AC Delco-branded joints on Rockauto are like this). These are the same as the OEM joints but are greaseable.

Look for ones that look like these:

Thanks! thats what I wanted to know. Yes, I think AC Delco makes em like that. Now I can finally order with confidence.
